Ford Foundation is an independent, nonprofit grant-making organization. For 75 years it has worked with courageous people on the frontlines of social change worldwide, guided by its mission to strengthen democratic values, reduce poverty and injustice, promote international cooperation, and advance human achievement. In Ibadan, Ford supported the establishment of the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA). Located in Ibadan, Southwest Nigeria, the institute today is one of the world's leading research institutions in finding solutions for hunger, malnutrition, and poverty and in addressing the development needs of tropical countries.
