Emerging from Akhaya Women's experience, and based on the belief that micro finance is not enough to make a difference for women's real advancement, the following program is proposed. It has two parts: Developing a model for women's employee-owned and cooperative social business programs (meaning serious inclusion of personal, social, economic/financial education), building on the interests and desires of women as individuals or in groups; Establishing at least ten women's employee-owned or cooperative social businesses.
